Whitewater kayaks are very specific in what they do and are designed to be that way. From river boats designed for rivers such as the Lower Guadalupe, to creeking boats for crazy Colorado whitewater, to short play boats designed for linking ends at a whitewater park, each boat usually does one thing, but does it very well. Some can cross over to different styles of water, but whitewater kayaking is much like surfing: you'll end up with 2 or 3 boards (kayaks) with each one assigned to a different type of paddling. Since these kayaks are designed to be as high performance as possible, it is highly recommended that you take lessons from one of our instructors before purchasing a whitewater kayak for the first time.
